Things we did today and forgot to take pictures

1. Bought Istrian olive oil from Sandi Chiavalon in Vodnjan. Sandi makes his olive oil from the first crop of green olives in the early fall, pressed into delicious spicy olive oil within 6 hours of picking the olives.

2. Bought sheep's milk cheese from a farmer who spoke German (my very modest German - "was kostet es" got the right response) and Croatian at a table by the side of the road on the mountains on our way to Plitvicka. The first of what turned out to be many farmers selling cheese - it is the thing to do in the mountains ... sell cheese and honey. We forgot to take a picture so we took a picture of a surrogate stand and the cheese though.
