On the road to Plitvicka (central Croatia)

We left Pula this morning headed for Plitvicka, guided by a desire to take the road less traveled, a GPS, iPad, map, and 2 easily confused navigators.

One exciting part was arriving at a toll station, stopping, switching drivers - Mary does not like to drive in extra legal ways - backing out of the toll and doing a u-turn across the divided highway so we could double back to the shore road once we figured out we had taken the wrong fork.

The drive took longer than planned but we did take in some interesting sights. Beautiful vistas of the rugged coastline (no pictures), a 6km tunnel through a mountain, a stork with 2 babies in an enormous nest on top of an electrical pole, and on arrival at our hotel, a rainbow.
